University Hospital Outpatient Physical Therapy is in the heart of the main hospital. Along with serving the public, we are also conveniently located to treat U of M employees and students. As a Physical Therapist you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals experiencing musculoskeletal issues. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients with orthopedic, spine, and post-operative rehabilitation needs.

Responsibilities*

  • Evaluate, design, and develop individually designed treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices to optimize outcomes.

  • Apply clinical decision making to progress and modify treatment depending upon the patient's needs and medical status.

  • Perform concise, complete, and timely clinical documentation.

  • Provide compassionate, patient-oriented care.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship is necessary.

  • Valid Michigan license to practice Physical Therapy.

  • Experience in patient treatment and management related to orthopedic and spine conditions.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time (40 hours). Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 7am-5:30pm. Schedule is dependent on clinic needs.

Union Affiliation

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
