POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Refinery Operations Accounting, this position could be located at either Pauls Valley or Bartlesville, Oklahoma. This position ensures the completion of timely and accurate field accounting close and reporting activities for CVR Energys pipeline and trucking operating activities. Additionally, this individual provides support, including, but not limited to, financial review, analysis, and reconciliation of related activities under his/her area of responsibility and other activities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in business related field required, concentration in accounting preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of similar accounting experience required.
  • Experience within the energy industry preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar general ledger and procure to pay software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Impeccable integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, asset retirements and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare analysis of variances.
  • Validate accurate general ledger coding for all applicable transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of transactions impacting financial statements.
  • Liaison with field management.
  • Develop process, track, and analyze fleet operating costs.
  • Write and maintain desktop procedures.
  • Compile offsite and line fill capacities on a quarterly basis.
  • Participate in annual tank and spare parts inventory audits.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Cross train with other areas of accounting and provide support as needed.
  • Assist with other accounting duties, ad hoc reporting, or special projects as required.

  • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Effective and timely communication with manager to clarify tasks, update progress of assignments, and address any issues that may occur requiring special resolution.
  • Courteous and effective customer service with colleagues, employees, and clients.
  • Prioritize tasks and adjust schedule to meet business needs.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
