Amazon Sr. Product Manager in Cape Town, South Africa

Are you interested in innovating to deliver Amazon’s experience to new customers across Africa? We are looking for a dynamic and talented Senior Product Manager. Joining means partnering with a dynamic and creative group who set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment. The Senior Product manager will partnering closely with category management, technology, and product teams to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Product Manager to lead product development of key features in our product roadmap, drive key business metrics, and develop requirements for innovative technologies for our customers. As a successful candidate, you will have experience managing complex businesses, solving technical challenges, and influencing key partner teams to drive initiatives to completion. You have a strong bias toward data driven decision making and an innate ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to each other. You are a product leader who has the ability to communicate priorities and work effectively with stakeholders, including teams across software engineering, logistics, product management, legal, finance, and core retail businesses. You should be comfortable with an extremely high degree of ambiguity, can work across a wide cross section of stakeholders, and relish the idea of solving challenging problems. You will tackle novel, situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with Amazon teams around the globe.

This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements

Key job responsibilities

Build and manage high quality product roadmaps based on business vision and strategy.

Manage prioritization and trade-offs to ensure the right features are built with the right quality at the right time.

Promote/drive decision making throughout the team.

Partner with global product teams to identify and influence development of new products and services.

Address barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders. Gain support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership.

Own, build and drive the customer experience with key local and global stakeholders such as , legal, accounting, operations and tech.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
