Makes rounds, inside and outside of assigned areas as scheduled or assigned, investigating and documenting all unusual or suspicious incidents, initiating corrective action as appropriate.
Plans, prioritizes, assigns, reviews, participates in and oversees the work of the staff responsible for security.
Establishes schedules and methods for providing security services; identifies team needs and reports those needs to the appropriate management staff
Helps the manager or supervisor with orientating, scheduling, training, coaching, communicating job expectations, and adhering to policies and procedures.
Helps the manager or supervisor by reviewing all reports, implementing quality standards and resolving problems.
Monitors and controls supplies and equipment; orders supplies and tools as necessary; prepares documents for equipment procurement.
Performs the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit as needed.
Stays current on knowledge of technology, industry trends and state and federal regulations.
Provides assistance to other security personnel, hospital employees, and escorts visitors to desired locations as necessary.
Observes and documents the non-conformance of policies and procedures including but not limited to the display of identification badges, fire, disaster, electrical, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Accurately completes all required paperwork on a timely basis.
Demonstrates discretion in handling confidential information; maintains confidentiality of all employee, patient, visitor, physician, hospital and security related information.
Responds to calls from nursing and other hospital departments in a timely manner to assist in the management of disorderly patients and/or visitors and emergency codes.
Performs functions in accordance with established standards of performance, including but not limited to, using pre-established script when answering phone calls and when interacting with customers entering and exiting the facility.
Participates in emergency preparedness drill, education and planning to the extent described in system, operations and departmental policies.
BLS Certification
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Michigan chauffeur’s license.
No criminal record/violations.
Driving record must be within the approved insurance company's regulations.
