Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building a next generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service that supports the most fast paced critically substantial customer requirements, and operates at cloud scale to provide a secure, distributed, and multi-tenant cloud environment! This role will be located in the Bay Area, California or Oracle's downtown Seattle Offices. Candidates able to work elsewhere in the United States may be considered. Proficiency in Spanish or Japanese should note this on their resume, but this is optional!

As a Solutions Architect embedded in the OCI Networking product management team, you will work closely with development and product managers to help define the vision and customer experience of OCI.. We will do this by partnering with internal customers, business partners, sales teams, and directly with customers as an enthusiast for OCI Networking. You will have direct contact with customer leadership, up to the executive level.

As a technical-business liaison, you will be responsible for redefining business problems into actionable networking products and solutions. You will build collateral representing your ideas, including blogs, tech notes, diagrams, presentations, and sample code. You are just as comfortable defining solutions and vision as you are willing to roll up your sleeves and become directly involved when vital.

The ideal candidate will also have a validated history of optimally transferring technical ideas into collateral within the public domain. We encourage you to include references to public blogs, videos, conferences, documentation, and any open source code samples in your application.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Validated experience in architecting, deploying and management of solutions. Experience working directly in customer implementations is helpful.

Able to accommodate occasional business travel 0-10% of the time.'

Expertise in IaaS and cloud native application architectures.

Strong verbal and written communications skills. Validated capability to represent Oracle in pre and post sales conversations with customers.

Strong understanding of IP Networking, routing, security, from L1-L7.

Experience with automation and solving customer adoption barriers through languages with as Python, Go, or others.

Familiar with Software Development methodologies and API design.

Possess 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or infrastructure industries and demonstrate an intermediate understanding of applications, server technology, networking and security.

The successful candidate will have spent at least 5 years of their career in customer facing roles with a consistent track record of earning trust as well as effective collaborations across multiple internal organizations and in interactions with partner and customers.

BS/MS degree required; Computer Science, Math or Engineering degree with Technical background highly desired; Advanced Degree a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior Software Defined Networking Experience in virtualization environments and container networking.

  • Understand web technologies like CDN, HTTP, and Javascript.

  • Experience with networking protocols like DNS, BGP, and IPv6.

  • Experience migrating or redefining customer solutions to the cloud.

  • Familiarity with common enterprise solutions (i.e., Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, VMWare, etc.)

  • Experience with other cloud platform including AWS, Azure or Google Compute Platform is a plus.

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in deeply technical architectural discussions with customers, partners and Oracle field personnel to ensure solutions are crafted for successful deployment in the cloud.

  • Serve as a final partner concern point to customer technical issue when business sensitivity or technical architectural complexity warrant.

  • Communicate technical concepts with audiences of varying technical knowledge or business insight.

  • Assemble and share best-practice knowledge among the field and internal teams.

  • Implement cloud solutions applying Console, API, Terraform, and other Cloud deployment tools.

  • Author or contribute to customer-facing publications such as white papers, blogs, handbooks and presentations.

  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, account teams, service engineering teams and support.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
