Job Description

What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Commercial Banking team, you’ll build lasting relationships with business owners and executives throughout the country to help them realize their ambitions.

Reporting to the Head of C&I Syndications, the Loan Syndications Sales and Origination Director or Executive Director will be responsible for supporting the Commercial and Industrial Line of business in originating new CIBC led syndicated transactions. This professional will have specific coverage areas(geography or industry) as well as P&L responsibility within the group. Additionally, this professional will also be responsible for cultivating and maintaining co-lender relationships.

How you’ll succeed

Relationship building – You will grow and develop relationships not only internally but externally, too. You’ll develop a co-lender investor base, including expanding existing and adding new lenders. You’ll build external brand awareness in the syndication market.

Teamwork – You’ll work in tandem with Portfolio Managers and Underwriters to ensure consistent syndications coverage. You’ll collaborate and help to enhance the syndication platform & offerings.

Production – Your performance will be based heavily off of your revenue gerneation, fee generation and identificaiton on new co-lenders.

You can demonstrate experience in commercial banking with 10 – 15 years of experience (syndication experience preferred). You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

Qualifications:

  • 10 to 20 years of experience

  • 30-50% travel required for position

  • Capital markets and synidications experience is a plus
