Systems Development Manager
The Systems Engineering Manager position will focus on strategy design while managing complex engineering systems over their life cycles. Issues such as reliability, logistics, and coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, project management, and other disciplines that becomes more difficult when dealing with large or complex projects. Systems engineering deals with work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools in such projects. It overlaps technical and human-centered disciplines such as control engineering, industrial engineering, logistics engineering and project management. Systems engineering ensures that all aspects of a project or system are considered, and integrated as a whole.
Essential Functions
Hiring, training, and leading a team of engineers to design and execute solutions for critical business technology applications
Direct teams to develop the lifecycle evolution of architectural solutions, standards, reference models, guidelines and principles.
Monitor and lead rapid prototyping tasks in a project management capacity using broad variety of current and emerging technologies.
Collaborate with multiple development teams to oversee and manage routine technical development activities.
Lead and inform architectural decisions as well as technical design specifications.
Perform as expert for technical resource for all product managers, business stake holders, IT, and subordinate engineers.
Review functional & operational needs for projects and identify feasibility cooperating with key stakeholders.
Participate in developing project plans, estimated timelines and resource allocations and act as a project-engineering manager once all plans are established.
Develop and record technical design to accomplish all requirements and monitor implementation.
Explain models to lead quality solutions collaborating with business leaders.
Define and stimulate enterprise technology decisions, governance processes and architecture standards.
Execute review of design and balance project schedules, risks and priorities with key stakeholders & business leaders.
Evaluate existing business processes and recommend feasible changes & continuous improvement opportunities
Act in a Project Management capacity with staff and/or Business Development Managers and Directors in authoring proposals for large, complex systems engineering projects which include but not limited to: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) and various other automated or integrated material handling solutions.
Fully and accurately define functional requirements and the solution approach while ensuring the gathering of accurate information and performing detailed solution design.
Develop value-added approach to multi-disciplinary challenges employing engineering analysis, innovation and experience within the targeted solution.
Perform modeling or direct a modeling team for more complex solution design.
Deliver qualitative and quantifiable analyses and utilize written communication skills to describe the solution.
Present Solutions to internal customers including Director’s, Business Development Managers, Site Managers, and Regional leadership.
Support and present solutions, data, and models to internal customers including Procurement, Operational Managers and Leads, and Directors
Support operations teams by identifying and implementing improvements to existing operations.
Perform various analyses utilizing MS Access and Excel. Understand the use of optimization/decision support tools to perform global supply chain studies, routing optimization and transportation rate analysis.
Interface as required with the external partners, vendors, and various internal cross functional groups.
Travel requirement: up to 50%- on average travels 2 weeks out of the month

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
6 Years – Experience in advanced material handling solutions & information technologies along with 1-3 lifecycle implementations of engineered automation systems with varied complexities
6 Years – Experience in a Project Management role with a successful track record of on time, in scope and in budget project delivery
4 Years – Experience managing people/projects
*experience may include a combination of work experience and education
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ Years– Experience in advanced material handling solutions & information technologies along with 5-10 lifecycle implementations of engineered automation systems with varied complexities
10+ Years – Experience in a Project Management role with a successful track record of on time, in scope and in budget project delivery
6 Years – Experience managing people/projects

Competencies
Must possess working hand experience designing facility layouts using various simulation software.
Project Management background. Includes use of Microsoft Project software
ROI and financial analysis related to engineering projects.
Basic proficiency with SIMIO, Arena, or FLexSim simulation tools
Intermediate proficiency Auto AutoCAD(2017 or newer preferred)
Strong working knowledge and experience in system-to-system design flow and integration.
Strong analytical skills and a clear understanding of data, warehouse and business concepts.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) knowledge a Must.
Expert level Microsoft Office software & Excel skills a Must.
Comfortable performing analytics with large data set, including optimization modeling, regression and data mining.
Debug/R.C.A./ and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) skills for designs, library and technology files. Six Sigma preferred.
Ability to deal with complex, short-time frame situations.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience in supporting client engagements.
Good Communication and Leadership Skills.
Ability to support global pursuits and flex schedule.
Ability to travel (Domestic and International).

Education
Minimum Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related field or equivalent in combined education and considerable professional experience or similar field may be considered equivalent.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or any discipline of advanced Engineering
Certification/License:
Required: Certification in Project Management or equivalent considerable professional experience
Preferred: Simulation & Modeling Tools. I.e. AutoCAD, SIMIO, Arena, FlexSim

Pay Rate Type: Salary
$128,287.00 - $186,016.00 / Yearly
Bonus Target: 10% Annual
