GAF Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in Ennis, Texas

Summary

The Electrical Supervisor will lead a group of 4-5 direct reports. The candidate will be responsible for providing functional safety and operational leadership, direction, coordination and support for all aspects of the daily execution of the electrical department’s job plans. The Supervisor is responsible for work order tracking, scheduling, execution and completion using Maximo. The Supervisor is expected to collaborate with other members of the maintenance department, the operations group, project engineering, and the process engineering department to drive quality, increase OEE, optimize efficiency and support capital project needs as required. The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for safety, quality and equipment reliability through direct leadership and cross-functional department coordination.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The successful candidate will promote and sustain the safety culture established by Plant EHS Leadership.

  • The candidate will also suggest ways to improve safety, methods, procedures, and work practices within the areas of the 6 building blocks. Ensures safety, quality, timeliness, cost and thoroughness of work performed.

  • Actively participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of electrical maintenance activities to ensure they are completed successfully in the allotted time frame. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that there is a preventative maintenance strategy in place for all plant electrical equipment and will continuously review that strategy to ensure that equipment reliability meets plant expectations.

  • The candidate will also track all electrical maintenance activities that require a machineoutagetocomplete.Responsibleforidentifyingandprioritizingwhenthose activities need to be executed based on the plant outage schedule. Responsible for building and communicating planned outage electrical work scope well in advance of thoseoutages.Also,responsiblefortrackingandplanningallelectricalrepairs requiring a plant shutdown and communicating duration and resources required for executing those activities.

  • The ideal candidate will provide on-the-spot, on-the-job equipment-related expertise and technical guidance and function as a point of contact for after hours and weekend call-ins for both on call employees and plant management.

  • Address performance issues promptly and in a fair and consistent manner and provide effective and timely feedback using the performance evaluation process which includes annual goal setting with routine check ins.

  • Provide input and feedback to the maintenance planner and storeroom personnel to refine/finalize labor, parts, priorities and methods by minimizing maintenance costs without negatively impacting operating results. Support efforts to minimize cost for major repair

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs. Work on elevated open grating

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication

  • Occasionally operate business machines

Under This Roof, We Require

  • High School diploma or a GED equivalent required

  • Technical school training/diploma/certification/Engineering Degree preferred

  • 5+ years practical experience as an electronic technician in high volume manufacturing operation, preferably continuous process

  • Advanced proficiency in NFPA 70E regulations

  • Intermediate proficiency in Google G-Suite

  • Advanced proficiency using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problems

  • Intermediate proficiency in electrical distribution systems and instrumentation

  • Intermediate proficiency in PLC programming, debugging, and troubleshooting; Allen Bradley experience preferred

  • Intermediate proficiency Maximo

  • Advanced proficiency in maintaining electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Intermediate proficiency using variable frequency drives and AC & DC drives; Allen Bradley preferred

  • Advance ability to read blueprints, single-line diagram, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills

  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
