A Driver's responsibilities are as follows: pick-up and delivery of freight, safety and maintenance, possible usage of a forklift to move inventory, and other duties assigned by management. The individual is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of company equipment. The individual is expected to maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the company and a favorable image of the company.
[Responsibilities:]{.underline}
- Ensuring that deliveries and pick-ups are made in the most efficient, economical manner possible.
- Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations.
- Hook and unhook trailers from tractor -- cranking lever to raise and lower landing gear
- Inspect equipment for defects and operating condition before, during and after trips --complete a thorough pre and post trip.
- Develop and maintain an efficient routing system.
- Maintain clean equipment.
- Professional representation of the company and trucking industry.
- Reporting-Submitting daily trip reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure BOLs are signed and delivered
- Safety and Maintenance -- involves delivering orders safely, following regulations, and safely operation and maintaining equipment.
- Observe OHSA, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Follow all company and regulatory agency safety policies.
- Maintain a valid commercial driver's license.
- Report all accidents involving driver and/or equipment immediately upon occurrence.
- Promptly report any delays, breakdowns, weather and/or traffic conditions, or other emergencies to dispatch.

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
[Qualifications / Skills:]{.underline}
- Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have at least 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and preform simple mathematical calculations with mental ability to handle receipts, road maps, road signs, maintain logs, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
- Individual must have a respectable driving record.
- Must meet or exceed the medical standard of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
- Public Safety and Security- knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, and/or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. a. Knowledge on DOT regulations governing safe driving, HOS, inspection and maintenance.
