Heres the deal, Allo is looking for a skilled Fiber Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Fiber to the Home Installer, you will be responsible for installing fiber optic cables to homes and businesses, ensuring that they have access to high-speed internet and other advanced communication services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Heres a typical day:

  • Start your day knowing it probably wont be typical and brand-new tasks not listed below are bound to come up.

  • Prepare various types of cables.

  • Maintain/Upkeep assigned company vehicle. Stock supplies and equipment.

  • Install fiber-optic lines and various types of splice closures. Must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces.

  • A little dust can have a big impact, youll field polish connectors to improve service consistency.

  • Single fiber splicing.

  • Aerial and underground drop installation.

  • All Duties as assigned.

  • Adapt. Re-adapt. Then re-adapt again. No two days are the same.

  • Competently operate a light source and power meter.

  • Identify different types of equipment such as telephone systems, fax machines, IP related equipment, set top boxes, wireless routers, network switches and ensure the functionality of all equipment.

  • Maintain and inspect equipment at installation and troubleshoot effectively to quickly correct problems with service.

  • Ensure that all cables and cable accessories required for television, internet, and phone are working properly and are in serviceable condition.

  • Go the extra mile at every opportunity for the customer.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Associate's degree or 2-4 years equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job.

  • Must provide your own compatible smart phone for daily work functions.

  • General tech knowledge.

  • Must be comfortable with heights (ladder/gaff work)

  • Must be comfortable with tight spaces (attic/crawl space work)

  • Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles. Must maintain a clean MVR record.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
