Reference #: 4351740 THE POSITION Would you like to have a good paying summer job located outdoors performing duties as a Lifeguard Supervisor at a pool?  Are you a mature person who can be responsible for the lives of others ensuring the swimming rules and regulations are enforced?  The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of State Parks, is looking for a responsible person to fill their Lifeguard Supervisor position during the summer season.   DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this role involves engaging in public safety duties by actively participating in and overseeing a team of lifeguards. This position is responsible for patrolling, observing, directing, and monitoring the swimming pool area at Codorus State Park. The main objective is to maintain order and ensure the safety of all visitors enjoying the pool facilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time seasonal employment with no benefits. Workdays will vary, employee will work 5 of 7 days per work week. Must be available 7 days per week for 24/7 operation which includes weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two seasons of experience as a Lifeguard (commonwealth title); or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: All employees must obtain a valid Lifeguard Certification or Lifeguard Management Certification issued by the American Red Cross, YMCA, United States Lifesaving Association, or other authority recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health within 14 days of employment. All employees must obtain valid certifications in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR within 14 days of employment. Other Requirements: is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
