THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD

The Quality Assurance Manager shall perform regular site visits to each active project site to ensure full compliance with all quality requirements, verification that work and materials in place and stored on site are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals. The QAM shall submit daily notes recording activities at each project site, review and coordinate material submittal sheets and shop drawing submittals, perform audits and review quality control reports for compliance

Responsibilities

  • Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices to a board range of project assignments.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Assurance program tailored to the contract and encompassing all facets of the operation.

  • Complete necessary inspection reports and documentation required to support findings.

  • Inspect work in progress and finished work for discrepancies in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and contract requirements.

  • Prepare project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the QA function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting nonconformance and verifying effective corrective action.

  • Ensure all GC’s and Sub-contractors are following their own QA/QC plans.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in developing an orientation program to ensure that the project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan, including other quality matters, if required.

  • Act as a quality auditor and may follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.

  • Report all issues, problems, accomplishments, and results of surveys, inspections, meetings, and observations relating to performance of the contract to the Project Manager.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices to a broad range of project assignments.

  • Plan and execute a wide variety of technical and administrative assignments; effectively communicates with department and project personnel regarding quality assurance policies and procedures.

  • Use progressive work and educational experience to increase knowledge and improve expertise.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Preferred

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in preparing and enforcing quality assurance programs on a commercial or military facility or complex 500,000 square feet or more

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing personnel with facilities labor skills

  • Completed OSHA 30 & 40hr construction safety class or equivalent within the last five (5) years

  • Completed U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook

  • Knowledge of generally accepted standards of workmanship in construction/maintenance of facilities, grounds, and power distribution systems.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and/or other electronic versions for reviewing drawings electronically.

  • Knowledge of Government contracting terminologies and applications.

  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance.

  • Knowledge of environmental issues relating to contractual requirements.

  • Skill in the use of common office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with a variety of people and personalities.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, read, and write in English

  • Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience Preferred

  • Experience with Quality Control/Assurance software Preferred

  • Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, pipefitting, painting, mechanical, electrical and general construction activities Preferred

  • Basic skills in the use of RMS Preferred
