JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Office of Finance & Business, in Hershey, PA, is seeking an Financial Specialist - Senior Professional.

The Financial Specialist position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data for multiple departments across the College of Medicine depending on the need and volume of work. They will review the data that central staff input. This will include performing advanced analysis and reconciliation of complex accounting records and interpreting analytical results, researching and resolving complex accounting problems and/or discrepancies, and developing appropriate accounting processes to proactively create accurate financial data. Responsibilities will also include performing complex trend analysis on spending in multiple departments, development, in conjunction with their manager, of routine audit procedures for internal activity and implementation of the developed processes. This position will also act as the financial auditor on department accounts to ensure all transactions are coded correctly and that they are allowable on the funding source. They will provide overall administration of all income and expenses for multiple departments as well as analyze cost expenditures. This position will oversee complex and advanced reconciliations functions for all accounts for multiple departments. this position will provide input into the performance evaluations of the central staff that support data entry for their business area or departments. The successful candidate will also be able to correspond with and provide accounting support and training to other COM financial staff as needed, field and answer questions regarding financial operations/accounting/policy/etc. They will also work closely with their manager to provide financial data and schedules to the central finance offices for the university as needed.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$68,200.00 - $102,300.00
