DON Pathways Internship Program GS-3: 35,599 - 46,277 GS-4: 39,961 - 51,945 Responsibilities You will serve as a STUDENT TRAINEE (NUCLEAR ENGINEERING TECH) in the various Engineering Departments in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. You will provide support service to assist engineers with obtaining necessary technical and administrative information. You will conduct research (databases and libraries), obtain supporting documents (drawings and technical manuals), and interface with vendors to obtain technical data and related short term and long term documents. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. The Internship Program is for current students. Interns may be non-competitively converted to a term, career-conditional or career appointment within 120 days following successful completion of all of their educational and work experience requirements in accordance with 5 CFR 362.204. Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed. If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. Several vacancies may be filled.
