Oracle OVIP Product Manager Intern in Lansing, Michigan

Job Description

We are looking for someone willing to dive in, that helps other team members “get it done”, brings a mix of skills, business judgement, and curiosity to learn and innovate on behalf of developers. We are also looking for someone that can take an idea or request and turn it into a draft plan with little to no help. Work with teammates to further develop and execute plans.

As a member of the product management team, you are expected to be agile, to actively contribute to content preparation, sales enablement materials, business requirements analysis, product solution workshop creation, reviews, and testing. You will work closely with other Product Managers and sales teams interpreting customer and product needs to aid in getting the most out of the Observability and Management solutions they have purchased and learn about other new solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • US Veteran transitioning from active service or active duty Military Spouse new to corporate experience preferred.

  • BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area or related field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of product managers and Oracle Sales

  • Prioritize and translate business requirements to products

  • Create a variety of assets, which may include tutorials, eBooks, infographics, videos, training courses, certification exams. Write or review business requirements, storyboards, videos or user stories

  • Effectively communicate product strategy and functionality to customers, consultants, and marketing (by demos, a product brief, or other collateral)

  • Understand core technologies utilized in product domain and is fluent in pros and cons of technical alternatives

  • Listen to customers and understand their needs for a service

  • Develop user stories while working with product and development teams

  • Author documents that identify and detail benefits and value of products or solutions

  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences

  • Understand and exercise technical tradeoffs and opportunity costs and make quick, business decisions

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Windows. Any experience with Linux or UNIX command line, system configuration, scripting, applications, database installations or performance troubleshooting a plus

  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies

  • Conceptual knowledge of technologies such as: XML, HTML, CSS, CGI, PHP, REST, JSON, Python, Terraform, Cloud, Network or Systems Management or Database Management

  • Strong English writing and communication skills

  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

  • A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics

  • Ability to work independently and self-learn, with guidance as needed. Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues

  • Basic database management skills are a plus

Possess a degree or certificate in software/computer engineering, computer science, technical business or other technical fields.

Oracle is proud to sponsor an internship and integration program that exposes transitioning military veterans and Military Spouses new to the corporate culture, provides hands-on job-skill training and experience, and offers enhanced professional and personal development. Additional Information:

Hourly wage is $30 per hour. This is a 40 hour per week position.

Internship runs from July 20, 2024 through October 18, 2024 – must be available for full time employment during these dates.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $18.99 to $53.00 per hour; from $39,500 to $110,240 per annum.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
