SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Salary Range: $90,368.64- $119,287.44

The Michigan Court of Appeals is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Software Developer. Primary duties will include the ability to analyze, design, code, test, implement, document, and support the case management system for the Court of Appeals. Research and develop alternative strategies for application development to enhance court operations. Serve as team leader for multiple projects as assigned by the director or software development manager. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, document, and test with current technologies to provide case management needs for the Court.
  • Work individually or within a team to create and maintain web and software applications according to user requirements.
  • Perform unit testing on software application changes to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as project requirements, implementation plans, standards, and training materials to provide internal support for the development team.
  • Consult with users to gather information about application needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Work closely with Information Systems Software Development Manager and Help Desk staff to resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor automated processes and resolve issues related to supporting the case management system and external website for the Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court.
  • Architect the core frameworks and reusable code as a basis for enterprise-level application development.
  • Formulate plans for application development using structured analysis and design, flowcharts, and diagrams to illustrate the sequence of steps involved.
  • Assist Database Administrator to develop logical and physical database models designed to meet system requirements.
