Pulaski County Special School District Title I Certified Academic Interventionist (Part-Time) in Little Rock, Arkansas

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid teaching certificate required

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To aid and support teachers in implementing the instructional program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide instructional support services in the areas of math and literacy under the direct supervision of a highly qualified teacher.

  2. Collaborate with teachers and model for teachers how to modify instruction for those students with behavioral needs.

  3. Assist in planning and implementing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.

  4. Provide individualized and small group instruction and implement behavior plans as directed by the classroom teacher.

  5. Monitor student work as assigned by the classroom teacher.

  6. Conduct functional assessments, and participate in collecting and charting academic and behavioral data with an emphasis on targeted achievement and behavior goals.

  7. Praise and reinforce the achievement of students.

  8. Report student progress to the classroom teacher.

  9. Work with the classroom teacher to assess student progress.

  10. Debrief daily regarding student performance and instructional interaction.

  11. Perform duties under the direction of the classroom teacher.

  12. Provide Tier II and Tier III interventions to students as part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: 3 days per week/7 hours per day (September 1-April 1)

Pay: $31.00 per hour

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Staff personnel.
