Job Description

The Risk Strategy Business Intelligence Senior Programmer 2 will have a primary focus of completing code development for data requests and other data related projects while providing senior level assistance.

The Risk Strategy Business Intelligence Team supports the Risk Strategy and the Control Environment & Quality Assurance testing teams, and the greater CBB (Consumer and Business Banking Risk) group by:

• Data Support and Reporting: Provides accurate, independent data for risk analysis and testing by way of ADHOC/recurring reporting and validation/review of external data and code. Including data mining, waterfall based reporting, Excel assistance, systems assistance, and other data needs.

• Automation and Innovation: Develops and maintains automated processes, applications, data visualizations, data models, ETLs/ELTs, and SDKs.

The Senior Programmer will be responsible for the above, including but not limited to, the following:

• Prioritize business workloads to ensure data requests are completed within established SLAs.

• Provide coaching and assistance to Business Intelligence Team Programmers.

• Work with business line partners to identify access to Bank systems as needed.

• Assist the Business Intelligence Team Management in the continuous improvement of the Business Intelligence Team processes and materials.

• Provide general data and analytical assistance to Business Intelligence Team Programmers, Risk Strategy and the Control Environment & Quality Assurance testing teams.

• Maintain awareness of Bank, regulatory, and industry changes and trends

• Responsibilities may also include contributing to Risk Strategy Business Intelligence Team projects or project implementation.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Risk Strategy and the Control Environment & Quality Assurance Management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically, more than eight years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business

  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls

  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills

  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations

  • Applicable professional certifications

  • Requires five years of experience in a reporting, analytics, or technology environment

  • Requires advanced SQL coding skills

  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau highly preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint Online preferred

  • Experience with a general-purpose language like C# and Python preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate preferred

  • Experience with SAS preferred

  • Experience with API’s preferred

  • Knowledge of systems and software development

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills required

  • Advanced level of presentation (verbal/written) and relationship building skills

  • Comfortable working in a team environment with layers of required review/approval

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with large workloads

  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office advanced)

  • Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

  • Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations

Location Expectations

The role is posted as remote; however, candidates who are located near any one of our locations would be required to work on site at least three days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
