FOOD SERVICE / KITCHEN MANAGER - LINCOLN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Summary:Responsible for leading all food service personnel in the school cafeteria in order to serve students an attractive and nutritious meal in coordination, creating a warm, caring, and friendly environment for staff, students, family, and community members.

• Full-time (8 hrs), 9-month position
• Start at $18.92/hr
• High School diploma or its equivalent
• Ability to use weights and measures to adjust ingredients in recipes
• Ability to assist in developing and testing recipes
• Ability to train and orient new food service personnel
• Ability to work closely with the Food Service Supervisor and kitchen staff
• Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and how they are used.
• Extensive knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation.
• Effective, professional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction from others
• Self-directed with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously so tasks are completed in a reasonable manner
• Prior baking experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, push and/or pull. Individuals must be able lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and have the ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
• Complete ServSafe certification within 60 days of starting
• Ability to pass required background check, physical, and TB test
