DXC Technology Principal Networks Solution Architect in McLean, Virginia
- Summary This is an internal OCIO position and the candidate will be responsible for overall network strategy and architecture for DXC’s internal OCIO owned networks. Network security experience critical and the requirement to partner deeply with the OCIO Information Assurance team to ensure our network evolution meets the ever broadening needs of keeping DXC secure.
Develops, defines, promotes and oversees larger or more complex strategic solutions, architectures by combining business and solutions, expertise. Focus on network architectures, network planning, performance and enhancements.
Candidate must be able to work in Tysons Corner, VA - no remote option is available for this role
Essential Job Functions
Lead aspects of network solution development and network architecture design from concept ideation through development, launch and maintenance. Interfaces with development, account and executive management to support all company network requirements.
Develop requests for proposal, RFP review, vendor selection. Interfaces with vendor team, reviews project progress, provides requirements for POCs.
Ability to design cost-effective data communications solutions to meet new and evolving requirements, serves as technical consultant on architectures for internal networks, acts as the subject matter expert on multiple networks and related systems.
Ability to merge business requirements with corporate standards and convert into a network design.
Provide leadership and technical expertise to network engineering team, OCIO, and other IT team members, support the design and analysis of LAN/WAN/WLAN network migrations, improvements, and enhancements
Provide analysis to support performance tuning and capacity and performance planning, provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support for network issues.
Provides leadership and strategic guidance during the solution development process to ensure bridging of the gap between business problem faced by company and benefits available from company solutions and services. Translates company requirements into operational strategies associated with each solution and offering to ensure company needs are met in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Provides Subject Matter Expertise for solutioning team, enterprise architecture team and business users.
Researches existing business environment including trends, best practices and company preferred architectural frameworks and alliances to ensure company services match business trends. Suggests appropriate upgrades or relevant solutions to enhance company competency in meeting changing business needs.
Interfaces and participates in business development discussions across cross-functional teams and internal and external executive managements to ensure consistency in solution development and implementation.
Facilitates reduced risks to company; reviews solution profits and losses; participates in solution business plan creation; monitors solution financial performance against plan; assists in preparing financial models to ensure that client interests are met.
Identifies business requirements; evaluates concepts such as compelling event and problem identification to ensure that delivered solutions meet both short and long-term company business performance expectations. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information technology or related field preferred
Five years of network architecture experience
Twelve years of hands on network engineering experience preferred
Five or more years of business solutions experience
Experience working with company products and services, business processes and re-engineering
Experience working with business environment, business industry and competitor products and services
Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, product-line hardware and software
Experience working with office productivity tools; delivery assurance and/or industry standards on deliverables Other Qualifications
