Full Time Perm

Salary: $107,000 - $160,500, plus annual bonus

Shift : Hybrid - 2 days on-site 3 days remote

Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN

To support this vision, NiSource plans to focus on merging synergies to drive efficiencies in testing by standing up a Quality Engineering (hereafter referred as “QE”) C4E Team. The initial focus of the QE C4E will be on building enterprise-wide capabilities in testing and quality practices that can be enabled across different transformation programs and projects.

The Lead Performance Test Engineer , reporting to Manager Delivery Methods & Practices within the Agile Delivery Enablement (ADE) department, will participate as a Performance Test Management technical subject matter expert within the quality engineering center for enablement (QE C4E). In this role, you will mentor and guide others in the performance testing activities as well as provide support for application teams to grow in this skillset. You will be heavily involved in implementing the Performance Testing Framework and continuously driving improvements in test automation strategies as well as assessing and reporting on the software development processes as it relates to performance testing adopted by project and product teams through audits, reviews, and inspections. This role requires expertise in LoadRunner capabilities to define, monitor and fine tune performance testing strategies, end user adoption needed with performance and automation testing capabilities.

This will require strong coordination and communication with IT delivery teams following the NiSource delivery frameworks (agile, waterfall, and iterative), business partners and IT delivery partners and service providers. The Lead IT Systems Analyst will have duties related to creation of operational documentation and playbooks and have coaching and training duties for both QE C4E peer staff, application support personnel and the NiSource user community. The Lead IT Systems Analyst, although a Performance Testing specialist, should also have a demonstrated ability to learn and stay current with adjacent software engineering tools and capabilities – examples include but are not limited to: CI/CD pipelines, test automation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive, plan and continuously improve upon performance testing framework, test automation initiatives, roadmap, and blueprint across the QEC4E engagement(s)​

  • Work with business SME, the data team, and QA to define the scope of the PerformanceTesting for related project/programs.

  • Work with development and infrastructure teams for issue resolution

  • Develop and standardize Performance Test Metrics and Reports

  • Assess application capacity, planning, and modeling and perform application diagnosis.

  • Maintain performance test script portfolio for projects.

  • Serves as tools operations liaison and lead point of contact for QEC4E Application Support Teams and related Incidents/Configuration Support.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Problem detection and resolution

  • 5+ years of experience in Test Management and Defect Management Tools and practices

  • 3+ years of experience in Performance Test tools (LoadRunner)

  • 3+ years of experience in Performance testing and validation expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise on DBs Oracle, SQL Server, DB2

  • Proven competency in Project Management

  • Experience in Power BI
