UNC Health Care System Manager - Strategic Planning in Morrisville, North Carolina

Summary:

The System Manager position is responsible for simultaneously managing multiple teams and projects related to strategic planning, business development, or other strategic initiatives across the entire healthcare system. This position is also responsible for conducting analysis and synthesizing findings into understandable implications, tactics, strategies, and next steps for leadership within and outside of Strategic Planning. In addition to ongoing strategic planning, this position will also be assigned a designated service line(s) and serve as the primary liaison to Strategic Planning. In this service line liaison role, the System Manager will meet regularly with service line leadership teams/councils/committees to ensure that activities are in alignment with system priorities and to provide ad hoc support. The System Manager is also responsible for department management responsibilities as assigned by the CSO which may include but are not limited to methodology advancement, internal resource management, training and development, and recruiting.

Understands the overall financial performance of the organization and applies financial concepts and practices to establish and maintain realistic budgets. Uses financial information to monitor budgetary responsibilities.

  4. Strategic Planning, Business Development and Key Initiatives - Provides direction and leadership to strategy consultants within Strategic Planning. Collaborates with peers to prioritize work while supporting the alignment of activities throughout the department. Is assigned a designated service line(s) and serves as the primary liaison to Strategic Planning. Meets regularly with service line leadership to ensure activities are in alignment with system priorities and to provide ad hoc support for strategic planning, business planning, and key initiatives.

Other Information

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; or Master's preferred

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • If a Master's degree: Five (5) years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting, strategy, finance, business development) or two (2) years at a top tier consulting firm with one (1) additional year of relevant experience. Healthcare, capital planning or strategic facilities planning is a plus.

  • If a Bachelor's degree: Six (6) years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting, strategy, finance, business development) or three (3) years at a top tier consulting firm. Healthcare, capital planning or strategic facilities planning is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, develop and implement program strategies, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
