Job Summary and Qualifications

The Consultant is able to leverage experience, creativity, and training to assist clients to meet their strategic plan. It is essential the candidate is able to work in a collaborative environment and able to follow the project lifecycle. Is able to apply knowledge and experience to execute on the client strategic plan. This role requires working inside peer groups and receiving guidance from supervisor. Is able to work independently with general supervision. Is able to be a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Experience with installation of clinical electronic healthcare systems Working knowledge of Health Information Systems preferred (MEDITECH). Experience in participating in project teams defining project requirements for their area of expertise. Experience in participating with project team or independently with general supervision to complete project work.

  • Completes project tasks and assignments independently with general supervision

  • Is able to participate during project planning, assessment/workflow process, direct build progress of teams (or own team), coordinate testing plans, Parallel processes (user acceptance testing) and go live activities.

  • Participates and follows project lifecycle process, including: issue & risk management, plan management, conversion management, communications, equipment evaluation and status reporting.

  • Communicates feedback from clients and escalates to project leadership

  • Uses professional knowledge and experience to advise the client on optimal workflows and system functions.

Openly shares this knowledge with peers, via Peer to Peer mentoring Participates in post project review and documentation revision with general supervision. Uses experience to develop client deliverables including, but not limited to, requirements documents, functional design documents, status reports, client presentations, etc. with general supervision. Develop internal training, knowledge share content for peer to peer mentoring/knowledge share Has excellent communication skills verbally and in writing, customer service focus, is able to work independently or on a project team

Project Expectations:

  • Participates in client communication process to develop and enhance client understanding of the project Best Practice, project timelines, tasks, client commitment, risk/issue impacts and mitigation.

  • Uses knowledge to facilitate client workflow and gap analysis, independently with general guidance to complete documentation utilizing department standards.

  • Independently monitors own work for accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Independently and within teams is able to share knowledge to project teams, clients and facilitate the process change.

  • Prioritizes own tasks and assists peers with task identification and documentation.

  • Understands project deliverables and level of effort to complete and monitors own effort to stay within project level of effort definition.

  • Participates in the Lessons Learned process and provides input for process improvement.

What qualifications you will need:

  • College Degree Preferred

  • Three or more years of relevant experience

Other/Special Qualifications

  • Certifications with clinical systems/applications – MEDITECH READY certifications required

  • Proficient in one or more HCIS system module (Nursing, Pharmacy, OR, EDM, Order Entry, HIM, and/or Patient Safety, etc.)

  • Healthcare License or certifications preferred. Pharmacy/Clinical Specialty (Nursing, RT, PhaTech, PT, RHITT, HIM etc.)

  • Intermediate to Expert ability to work in Office suite products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point
