Job Path Program Manager - Job Development in New York, New York

The Manager of Job Development is responsible for Customized Job Development across all Employment programs at Job Path.  The person in this role will take a lead in mentoring staff, developing strategies for researching and targeting employers, tracking job development efforts and networking on behalf of all participants receiving funding through the Intensive Phase of the program (both in SEMP and ACCES-VR).  This position will primarily be field-based.  

The person in this role will be expected to make in-person visits with employers, and work directly, alongside, Employment Specialists.  This will include ensuring excellence in service delivery, adhering to the principles of Customized Employment, in addition to review and submission of billing, and compliance with government regulations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with Employment Specialists to gain knowledge of all Job Seekers in the Intensive phase of the program.  This will include reading and review of Vocational Profiles, attending Planning Meetings, and in-person meetings with Job Seekers and Employment Specialists to ensure that the Job Development efforts connect with what was learned in the Discovery process. 

  • Upholding the principles of Customized Employment in Job Development efforts in that we are focusing on individual placements, based on the interests, talents, strengths and needs of the Job Seeker   

  • In tandem with Employment Specialists, Managers and Directors, actively job developing for 25-30 Job Seekers in the Intensive Phase of the program 

  • Attendance at virtual and in-person team meetings, including ETP/Intensive SEMP and ACCES-VR Supported Employment programs  

  • Mentoring all Employment Staff in Job Development which can include but is not limited to: prospecting employers, networking, shadowing opportunities, offering guidance when  working through any barriers or challenges   

  • Billing for Job Development efforts through various funding sources - primarily OPWDD SEMP and ACCES-VR.  A target number for billing will be expected each week/month.

  • Assure that case notes and monthly billing are submitted in a timely manner.  This may include review and approval of monthly ACCES-VR, SEMP reports, and case notes as needed. 

  • Ongoing tracking of Job Development efforts; opportunity to create system(s) that work best for the program (for example, tracking efforts by team, industry and/or geographic location.)  

  • Monthly meetings with Directors/Managers of Employment to discuss new ideas and strategies for where to best focus Job Development efforts.   

  • Advocate and be a champion of the benefits of Customized Employment with advocacy groups, funders, at networking events, workshops and conferences in NYC, NY State and beyond.

Reports to:  Senior Director of Employment Services / Director of Employment ACCES-VR  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent relevant experience with high school diploma)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customized employment services for people with disabilities; previous experience with job development preferred 

  • Experience in teaching or providing trainings

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Dedication to working across teams and perspectives towards shared goals and outcomes

  • Comfort and experience working with computers, databases, EHRs

  • Proficient knowledge of Google Workspace

Salary: $59,800, non-exempt
