ASRC Federal Holding Company Database Administrator in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract. Join our growing team as a Database Administrator and Database Application Developer in support of the FAA’s NAS Communication Air/Ground Communications and Recorders team. This team provides support for all FAA-owned and FAA-leased equipment involved in the transmission and recording of air traffic control communications between FAA controllers and pilots.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer SQL Server Database

  • Administer Oracle Database

  • Recommend Improvements to SQL Server Queries & Updates

  • Custom Backup Script Creation**

  • Migrate SQL Server Database to Oracle Including Embedded SQL

  • A medium system is defined here as having at least 200MB of data and 100 stored procedures

** We do not use normal database backups; we create custom scripts to back up the database structure and a minimal amount of data

Requirements :

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .

  • 3-5 Years of SQL Server Database Administration

  • 3-5 Years of Oracle Database Administration

  • 3-5 Years of SQL Server Application Performance Analysis & Improvement

  • 3-5 Years of Oracle Application Performance Analysis & Improvement

  • At least one migration from SQL Server to Oracle database for a Medium or Larger System*

  • Experience working in a team environment.

  • Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation.

  • Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Sciencein computer science, information science, computer engineering or a related field, preferably from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of testing during all phases of the software development process.
