How you make a difference

As a Substance Abuse Team Leader, you'll lead the development, implementation, and assessment of group therapies and activities aimed at supporting rehabilitation and promoting recovery for individuals served. You'll supervise staff within your area, ensuring the effective delivery of services and adherence to program goals. Additionally, you'll design and execute a diverse range of instructional modules, community support groups, vocational assessments, and transitional networks, playing a pivotal role in the therapeutic journey of individuals seeking assistance with substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads daily activities within a specified program area, overseeing staff supervision, coaching, and training, while ensuring adherence to program curriculum and performance standards.

  • Collaborates with management to conduct interviews, handle employee relations matters, and facilitate staff meetings, while also participating in the completion of Performance Improvement Reports and implementing recommendations.

  • Maintains effective communication and collaboration with hospital departments and community organizations, providing ongoing support to staff and ensuring compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct.

  • Oversees care provided to individuals served, including crisis intervention and appropriate evaluations, while demonstrating strong leadership skills in organization, prioritization, communication, and employee relations.

  • Performs Substance Abuse Counselor duties as outlined in the job description and adheres to the organization's Code of Conduct, while also fulfilling any other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university in a human services field.

Experience

  • Four (4) years’ experience in a mental health setting with specific duties related to substance abuse.

  • One (1) year experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Must be able to develop accurate and thorough reports.

  • Must be able to work as a team member as well as individually.

Licenses/Certifications

  • CAP certification is required.
