The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist (H11) to join our team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the setup and operation of manual and CNC OD, ID and surface grinders. The Machinist will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs when appropriate. (1st Shift, 6:00am - 2:30pm)

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Set-up and operation of miscellaneous CNC OD, ID, and Surface grinder and/or manual machines.
  2. Grind and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
  3. Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.
  4. Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
  5. Provide input and recommendations for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and Manual machine grind wheels to ensure they are consistent with type and size of material being ground.
  6. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
  7. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
  8. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
  9. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards. 
  10. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell. 
  11. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations. 
  12. Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
  13. Train cell specialist on new and incoming grinding equipment.
  14. Performs other duties as required.

     

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Prefer 3-5 years' experience in one or more of the following:

    • CNC Grinding experience
    • OD & ID Surface Grinding
    • Manual Machining

``` - Experience with precision machining is desirable - Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, planning, and manufacturing specifications - Possess the fundamentals in GD&T - Must have experience with a variety of standard and dedicated gauging approaches - Experience with aerospace materials such as SST, Inconels, Hast X, Aluminum, etc. is a plus. - Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
