Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Summary:

As senior level, expert leaders, Ambulatory and Medical Group Directors are responsible for planning and managing the human, material, equipment and fiscal resources for areas of responsibility and are accountable for developing action plans to carry out its mission and accomplish annual goals. They provide direction and leadership for several practices and serve as Administrator on Call in the absence of the President. The Director will demonstrate the knowledge, responsibility, and accountability for oversight of Physician and Hospital practices as assigned. Key processes to be supported include: Dyad Model for Lead Physician and Practice Manager leadership, quality improvement, strategic planning, budget preparation, provider recruitment and contracting, financial analysis, quality improvement initiatives, and execution. She/he will provide liaison serves to the medical staff, nursing staff, medical assistants and other hospital staff, and serve as a change agent and consultant to collaborate with other department leaders and care givers to continually refine the patient care delivery process to achieve financial, quality and customer satisfaction goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and development of managers, supervisors, leads, clerical personnel, and clinical personnel, including orientation, education, competency development and assessment, assistance with interviews, coaching and discipline, evaluations, scheduling, assisting with timecards, rounding with direct reports, human resource management and documentation. Oversees all department activities and ensures efficiency.

  • Develops, reviews, implements policies, workflows, projects, and procedures for the departments. Often participating on committees with system and local leaders to create system workflows, procedures and implement change strategies.

  • Delegates/assists with implementation of the budget; monitors budget performance and audit revenue denials for intervention. Delegates/assists with supply and inventory management for the department.

  • Assures the department meets regulatory and safety requirements, including maintaining readiness for surveys.

  • As an expert in the area of specialty, assists with coverage of the department as needed for surges or illness of others, within the scope of services.

Education:

  • RN with active Maine license or ability to obtain

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required

  • Master's Degree preferred or ability/commitment to obtain within 24 months of hire.
