This position is approximately 50% dedicated to tax related activities and the remainder is Treasury relates activities. The role is also responsible for accurately stating financial performance that supports our strategic objectives.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is up to $140,000. Pay will be determined based on experience level.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews, coordinates, and prepares information and analyses related to the company’s income tax, sales and other taxes compliance and accounting.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

  • Coordinates compliance activities with external accountants.

  • Participates in preparation and review of various aspects of annual budget and monthly accounting and financial analysis, and special projects.

  • Oversees operation of a functional area within finance department. Processes and applies daily cash receipts from the bank into AS400. 

  • Manages staff that reviews, researches and resolves any unapplied cash receipts. Works with bank personnel to research and apply any bank credit and debit adjustments.  Works with staff accountant to research bank reconciliation items.  

  • Issues weekly and monthly deposit discrepancy reports to the field.

  • Creates and submits daily cash borrowing and cash forecast

  • Coordinates with the Loss Prevention Group to ensure appropriate actions are taken for any missing deposits not resolved with the field.  

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance or Business; or related field.

  • 5 to 7 years of tax experience

  • Knowledge/experience with income tax provision/return preparation and accounting is required

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (advanced in Excel)

  • CPA, preferred

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Superior analytical skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Collaborative working style
