Position Summary:

This is a remote position and may sit anywhere within the U.S.

The Lead Director works with VP, CMO Aetna Medicare and the AVP, Deputy CMO, Medicare and business leads across the enterprise to achieve organizational goals for the Medicare Medical Ops business unit installing best in class policies, procedures, and plans for the area.

The role acts independently to address issues, guide direction, and provide analysis for planning initiatives. This leadership role will include evaluating business challenges, identifying and seizing new opportunities, prioritizing critical issues, securing executive level buy-in, implementing change, and generating demonstrable impact. In addition, Lead Director will facilitate efforts to develop clinical strategies and implement new innovation projects.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The Lead Director works across the Aetna and CVS enterprise in a highly collaborative partnership with multiple business units to drive better

clinical outcomes and cost-savings initiatives. The Lead Director is responsible for identifying opportunities, driving execution and monitoring

performance to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic projects and programs, such as, Scorable Action Items, ensuring the end state of the project meets business objectives, agreed upon metrics and outlines deliverables with due dates.

  • Develop operational plans and manage performance for the Medicare Med Affairs team.

  • Optimize goals in staffing, vendor relationships and other areas that impact Med Affairs budget. Specifically, advise leaders in FTE reconciliation and budget adjustments for growth projections in coordination with finance.

  • Engage with vendor management and oversight to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Develop analyses, presentations and other reporting materials to successfully implement change initiatives and socialize work to stakeholders.

  • Navigate a highly matrixed, collaborative work environment to meet goals. Skilled at developing positive interpersonal relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise to facilitate effective collaboration.

  • Proactively identify and take action to solve management and business problems.

  • Ensure consistent, efficient, and cost effective processes, procedures, and appropriate accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills

  • Adept at business intelligence software (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork

  • Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills

  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills

  • 10+ years work experience

Preferred requirements:

  • Clinical background

  • Healthcare experience

  • Management consulting

  • Project management experience/certifications

  • Experience in highly matrixed organization

  • Data analytics skills

Education:

Master's degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
