Philips Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in San Diego, California

Exciting opportunity to lead process development and commercialization of new products aimed to treat vascular diseases.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Initiating, leading, and executing product industrialization activities including equipment selection, process development, process characterization and process validation, focusing on Design for Manufacturability, Reliability, Serviceability.

  • Driving key performance indicators such as Cost of Goods, Yield, Output and Quality throughout projects and into commercialization.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success, making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies.

  • Supporting internal manufacturing, external manufacturing, and site to site manufacturing transfer projects, design changes and new product process development, in and outside of the USA.

  • Coaching and mentorship of junior engineers.

You're the right fit if:

  • BS Engineering degree or equivalent work experience. MS degree in engineering preferred.

  • 5+ total years’ experience in product/process development in the medical device industry with experience with stents, catheters, or delivery systems.

  • Experience with commercializing products within a regulated industry.

  • Successful record of accomplishment executing complex manufacturing or new product development projects / programs / improvement opportunities (timelines, quality, capacity, capability, cost, productivity some key metrics).

  • Strong leadership skills (change management, communications, building rapport and executing within a complex matrixed organization).

  • Demonstrated use of Design for Six Sigma tools (Design of Experiments, problem solving) and ability in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).

  • Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion thru collaboration among team members.

  • Experience with design for manufacturing, assembly, and testability; project management; and coaching / mentoring junior engineers.

  • Proficient with FDA QSR/cGMP and ISO13485 requirements to maintain commitment to environmental and quality regulations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $91,875 to $157,500 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Additional Information

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you will reside in or within commuting distance to San Diego, California for (6) months of training and Plymouth, Minnesota thereafter.
