Applied Materials Technical Program Manager in Santa Clara, California

General Profile:

Be a change catalyst by leveraging technology to drive quality improvements throughout the value chain. This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience in statistical process control (SPC) and project management. Demonstrates awareness of industry trends and domain expertise by leading SPC-based improvement programs. Drives new projects that involve machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) through cross-functional collaboration and partnership. Experince in solving complex problems, and bility to work independently and with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares project plans and drives the project from conception and planning to implementation. Will participate in the development of strategies, processes and resources

  • Manages project schedule and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists and project scheduling software

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support existing and new projects

  • Manage SPC performance through functional resources and drive compliance improvements and process control

  • Drives the advancement of machine learning and artificial intelligence development and application within Operations and Aftermarket Quality

  • Utilizes statistical and data science techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights

  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution

  • Presents to senior leaders and management on improvement efforts and ongoing operational performance

Functional & Technical Knowledge

  • Demonstrates depth of SPC, statistical tools and techniques with a proven track record of partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve SPC goals of suppliers and manufacturing teams

  • Proven track record of working with cross-functional stakeholders to complete projects, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement

  • Strong management skills and knowledge of statistical methods, experimental design, and process improvement techniques.

  • Knowledge or experience with machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and data mining.

  • Certification in six sigma black belt preferred or project management

  • Knowledge of quality systems and measurements

  • Prior experience with semiconductor fabrication and related technology preferred

  • Proficiency in data analytics and/or programming tools, such as Minitab, JMP, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, R language, Python, etc. preferred

  • Leads functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity

  • Builds consensus in teams to deliver desired project outcomes

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Experienced in solving complex problems and driving continuous improvement initiatives/projects

  • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions

  • Lean manufacturing, six sigma and/or 8D problem solving knowledge/experience

U.S. Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $165,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
