ManpowerGroup Interim Controller in Southfield, Michigan

Our client, in the Transportation industry is seeking a strong Interim Controller to join their team. As an Interim Controller you will be part of the Accounting Department supporting three direct reports. The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative, exemplary management, and high level analytical skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Interim Controller

Location: Southfield, MI On Site 5 days/week

Pay Range: 50/hour (open to negotiation)

What’s the Job?

Responsibilities of a Senior Controller Consultant may include the following:

· Driving the monthly close

· Providing timely and accurate reporting.

· Communicating and collaborating with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements

· Overseeing standard costing processes and BOMs

Our clients seek Jefferson Wells’ help in providing consultants who can be hands-on with some or all of the following Accounting-related tasks:

· General accounting duties include various components of the month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, account and financial statement analysis

· Preparation/examination or analysis of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP Drive continuous improvement focusing on streamlining, improving and automating processes

· Participation in system implementations or migrations and automation projects

· Preparation of documentation for various accounting processes

· Providing of audit support for external audit, including substantive and controls-related work

· Assisting with acquisition integration – validation of opening balances and subsequent activity

· Provide oversight of accounting treatment for Inventory, Other Assets, Leases, components of A/R, as well as other areas

· Daily cash activity analysis and posting, forecasting

What’s Needed?

Typical Requirements for consideration:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

· Minimum 6 years public accounting or 8 years of industry accounting with progressive responsibilities

· CPA license preferred but not required

· Advanced MS Excel capabilities including comfort with Pivot Table and Lookup functions

· Strong knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

· Hands-on experience with various accounting systems
