Lutheran Social Service of MN Major Gifts Officer in St. Paul, Minnesota

Description Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is a dynamic social service organization serving children, youth and families, people with disabilities, older adults, and military veterans. We serve 1 in every 65 Minnesotans across the state and are continuing to grow and improve our services to best meet the needs of the community. Trustworthiness is a value and strength shared by our employees and recognized by the communities we serve. We offer an ALIVE Workplace (Supportive, Positive, and Fun) and careers that challenge, energize, and reward employees. Consider joining us! Job Summary: As a Major Gifts Officer (MGO), you will be part of a fun, supportive, and inclusive team collaborating with other advancement staff to build relationships, develop and implement fundraising strategies to expand support for Minnesotans supported by Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS). In this role, you will: Build and maintain a portfolio of approximately 130 major giving and leadership donors ($10,000+) and prospects with donors living across the state of Minnesota. Collaborate with the Development Church Partnerships and Volunteerism Team to engage with faith-based donors and prospects. Collaborate with LSS teammates at all levels of the organization and volunteer leaders to identify and connect with prospective donors and businesses across the state. Build authentic relationships with donors and business leaders while centering our work around the communities we serve. Connect with community members via phone, in-person, virtual visits, congregational visits (some evenings and weekends), mailings, writing cards, and email communication. Work with community members from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and affiliated groups. Work with a team committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Social Justice and Anti-Racism: Lutheran Social Service envisions a Minnesota in which all people have the opportunity to live and work in community in full and abundant lives. We know that we cannot hope to achieve this vision while racism threatens the well-being of ourselves and our neighbors. In 2008, LSS declared our commitment to anti-racism and began the journey of becoming an anti-racist and multicultural organization. There have been significant changes both inside and outside LSS that only affirm the importance of this commitment. LSS cannot be effective in our mission without developing our skills to work interculturally. This is critical not only for the communities we serve, but for the diverse employee body at LSS. What We Offer You: An excellent benefits package (medical, dental, life, vision, 403(b) plan with a match, wellness program, and possible student loan forgiveness). Opportunity to work in a hybrid environment. Generous PTO plan, paid holidays, and 3 float days. A supportive and inclusive workplace with focuses for racial equity and anti-racism. Paid training and opportunities to continue professional development. An outstanding reputation. Employee resource groups (Pan-African ERG, LGBTQIA2S+ ERG, Women in Support of Empowerment (W.I.S.E.) General understanding of stock, estate, and planned giving processes. Experience working in a multi-million-dollar campaign. Able to create 12+ month donor strategies.
