Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Stockton, California

Description

We are seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team in the transportation/distribution industry. This role is based in Stockton, California. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for using various accounting software systems to manage and analyze financial data in our transport industry. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all accounting functions related to payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Manage and oversee the 'About Time' software for time tracking and project management.

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) duties, including processing payments and maintaining accurate records.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure all financial transactions are accurate and align with company policies.

• Utilize Costpoint for project accounting, reporting, and billing.

• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to payroll accounting.

• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to streamline financial processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role within the transport industry

• Demonstrated understanding and execution of Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Experience in auditing, with the ability to identify discrepancies or inaccuracies in financial data

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
