Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) is looking for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) Engineer 1 at our Superior Township, MI location. The candidate is expected to work in a fast-paced environment, comprised of executive leadership, engineering leadership, a broad range of engineering disciplines, and administrators.

The EHSS Engineer is expected to display excellent written and verbal communication, with exceptional interpersonal skills by providing regular support and guidance to the EHSS Senior Engineer, BST Team Leader and others as requested.

Candidates for this position are expected to support and lead corporate-wide initiatives through close collaboration across all levels within the organization to ensure EHSS and facility strategies meet the requirements of the corporate goals and objectives, both now and in the future.

Candidates considered will have competency to manage, assist or support the following: * EHS Project Management and Continuous Improvement activities across the HATCI organization * EHS Policy and Procedure Development and Implementation * EHS Regulatory Compliance Reporting and Recording * Workplace Hazard Assessment and Mitigation * Complete site inspections, assessments and reports * Facilitate and arrange EHSS related training * Perform as Site Emergency Coordinator * Oversight and Maintenance of Fuel Distribution Systems and Gas Detection Systems * Administrative activities including: developing RFQ's, creating check requests, processing invoices, and other activities, as needed, to move EHSS related projects from concept ideation to completion. * Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing business requirements * A willingness to embrace multi-cultural working environment. Required Experience: * A four (4) year degree in a Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline * Up to five (5) years of experience working in a similar EHS Coordinator, EHS Specialist, or EHS Engineer role - preferably in the Automotive Manufacturing industry * Experience with Facility Security Systems - CCTV, Access Control, Visitor Management Systems * Experience with SAP and Vendor Management * Experience with Workers Compensation and Return to Work * Ability and willingness to travel domestically 10-25% * Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai-Kia must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
