Preferences:

  • Six (6) months’ experience in a position requiring the processing of medical payments or knowledge of medical terms.

  • Six (6) months’ experience in working with workers’ compensation claims in any capacity.

  • Six (6) months’ experience in customer service and providing information to callers.

    The annual salary for this position is $38,000.00.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

    This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

    Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication and basic arithmetic. Ability to examine and evaluate data relating to a workers' compensation program; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to a workers' compensation program; ability to conduct fact finding investigation; handle telephone calls in a fast, courteous and effective manner; deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner; work independently; utilize problem solving techniques; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; prepare and maintain reports; perform basic arithmetical calculations.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

    This position assists workers’ compensation specialists with reviewing and evaluating medical-only workers’ compensation claims, processing and paying medical and legal bills associated with workers’ compensation claims and reviewing workers’ compensation First Report of Injury forms.
