Position Summary:

Assists with the delivery, compilation, and cleaning of evaluation surveys for the Abstinence Education Services Program delivered to adolescent youth through Texas Health and Human Services. Assists with delivering the Adolescent Vaccination Program (AVP) to determine the degree of efficacy in longitudinal maintenance and reach to medically underserved populations.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Conducts literature reviews for survey development and publications

  2. Assists in drafting IRB documentation and protocols

  3. Assists in the development of project materials, including surveys and protocols

  4. Participates and provides updates on project, production, and Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings

  5. Participates in meetings with partner organizations and funding agency meetings

  6. Drafts abstracts, posters, and manuscripts to highlight project findings and for publication

  7. Assists in making recruitment materials and recruiting participants

  8. Assists with data collection, monitoring, cleaning, and analysis

  9. Assists in cleaning and mailing standardized surveys

  10. Assists in reviewing online survey completion and producing monthly counts

  11. Assists in data entry, data compilation, and response rates for funding agency

  12. Assists in preparing reports and presentations to funding agency

  13. Works closely with the Project Coordinator and study investigators in all other activities related to the project

  14. Perform other duties as assigned

Certification/Skills:

General knowledge and some detailed concepts of research field assigned.

Preferred:

Microsoft Word, Excel Access

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent written communication skills

Excellent verbal communication skills

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Preferred:

Master's degree

Minimum Experience:

One year of related experience in a research or clinical lab environment.

May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
