Description

The Telecom Project Manager / Implementation Specialist is responsible for leading project teams in day-to-day execution of assigned projects. This position is responsible for accomplishing all phases of assigned projects, including project initiation, data collection and validation, facilitation, project plan development, quality planning, communications planning, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role requires strong attention to detail and great communication skills to facilitate the successful completion of projects. Must have previous experience with multiple VoIP migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete life cycle of customer phone service migration to Proven IT phone services and/or projects involving physical security hardware (Cameras, Access Control, Alarms, ETC.)

  • Coordinates with 3rd party subcontractors to complete projects for national clients

  • Discovery and data collection to perform phone service migration

  • Validation and account setup of VoIP services

  • Account setup and hardware activation for security implementations.

  • Manage the phone number porting process for voice projects

  • Serve as an interface for VoIP, data, and voice service ordering and tracking

  • Obtain service quotes in a timely manner based on validated customer requirements

  • Order, budget, and track all open VoIP/voice/data service requests and drive timely installations

  • Generate and deliver consolidated status reports for stakeholders on a daily basis

  • Accurately record all project information including location, cost, milestone dates, and service details

  • Ensure discovery, installation, and training processes are completed to customer satisfaction

  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with carrier circuit installs/activations/ports

  • Effectively communicate project risks to all stakeholders across all levels and take appropriate action to mitigate risk

  • Audit utilization of active services, canceling or disconnecting unused services

  • Drive cost-savings and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Attend and actively participate in vendor training and business reviews

  • Apply and model project management standard practices, techniques, and tools for planning, execution, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics

  • Provide creative troubleshooting and adaptive leadership to quickly resolve bottlenecks or other project hurdles

  • Coordinates with account management and project sponsors to ensure problems are successfully resolved, and expectations met.

  • Identifies and manages risks and develops plans to mitigate risks that could seriously impact the successful completion of projects.

  • Ensures stakeholders are always informed on project status.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in Project Management

  • 2+ years of work experience in telecom industry

  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with team members, vendors, and clients

  • Ability to collaborate to meet goals or complete tasks

  • Moderate level of telecom knowledge

  • Ability to coordinate and manage 3rd party subcontractors.

  • Demonstrates ability to produce detailed solutions for a technical audience, and produce clear written communications for a non-technical audience

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced multifaceted environment is necessary.

  • Certification in one or more of the following: PMP, Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2 highly desired

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee uses a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for a prolonged period. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
