With that in mind, this role will help further Takeda’s sustained growth to:

  • Support ensuring ESG data disclosure transparent, assured, reliable at an enterprise-level

  • Support employee engagement for the sake of awareness of long-term value creation

  • Make interactive connections and engagement with internal sustainability practitioners and early-adopters

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The position will play a pivotal role in driving employee engagement for sustainability awareness, connecting individuals in sustainability, working closely with business units and corporate functions across Takeda, and mining proof points of Takeda’s distinctive story. This role aims to foster a culture of sustainability, empower employees to become sustainability practitioners and leaders, and elevate the conversation of value creation across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Employee Engagement for Sustainability:

  1. Implement strategies to engage employees in sustainability initiatives.

  2. Design and execute awareness campaigns, workshops, and training programs of sustainability.

  3. Foster a sense of ownership and responsibility for sustainability among employees.

2. Con necting People in Sustainability:

  1. Identify and connect individuals across the organization who are passionate about sustainability.

  2. Facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking opportunities.

  3. Engage communities of practice or sustainability-focused employee resource groups.

3. Col laboration with Business Units and Corporate Functions:

  1. Work closely with leaders and SMEs in business units to integrate sustainability into their strategies and operations.

  2. Collaborate with value corporate function (e.g., GMSGQ, HR, Communications) to align sustainability messaging and initiatives.

  3. Provide guidance and support to teams in implementing sustainability practices.

4. Elevating the Conversation of Value Creation:

  1. Develop compelling narratives and communication materials to highlight the value of sustainability.

  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and communicate proof points of the sustainability story.

  3. Support the integration of sustainability metrics and reporting into business decision-making processes.

CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE:

1. S trong Knowledge of Sustainability:

A deep understanding of sustainability principles, practices, and frameworks is essential. This includes knowledge of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, sustainability reporting standards, and emerging trends in sustainability.

2. Communication and Influencing Skills:

Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively engage employees, connect individuals, and collaborate with various stakeholders. The ability to articulate the value of sustainability and inspire others to take action is crucial. Strong influencing skills are also important for driving change and gaining buy-in from different teams and functions.

3. Project Management:

The role involves designing and executing awareness campaigns, workshops, and training programs. Strong project management skills are needed to plan, organize, and coordinate these initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

4. Rela tionship Building and Collaboration:

Building relationships with employees, leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders across the organization is vital. The ability to collaborate effectively, foster partnerships, and work cross-functionally is essential for integrating sustainability into business units and corporate functions.

5. Creativity and Storytelling:

Developing compelling narratives and communication materials to highlight the value of sustainability requires creativity and storytelling skills. The ability to convey complex sustainability concepts in a clear and engaging manner is crucial for inspiring and motivating employees.

6. Continuous Learning and Adaptability:

The sustainability landscape is constantly evolving, so a willingness to learn, stay updated on industry trends, and adapt strategies accordingly is important. Being open to new ideas and approaches is essential for driving sustainability initiatives effectively.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  1. Inclusive and collaborative teamwork : think about teamwork and team commitment first. Commit to team collaboration rather than individual goals.

  2. Assertive communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement skills : engage all the SMEs in different functions at a globe with right amount of information through right communication channels.

  4. Strategic/forward-looking mindset : capable of creating and articulating our path moving forward aligning with our long-term sustained growth based on what we’re doing

  6. Business level of Japanese and English both in writing and speaking

  7. Global work experience is a plus

  8. 7-10 years in business operations. Pharmaceutical industry experience and ESG/Sustainability experience are plus

  9. Bachelor’s (or Graduate preferred) degree in Sciences, Business, Sustainability, or other relevant areas.

勤務時間:本社(大阪市中央区・東京都中央区)9:00~17:30 、工場(山口県光市・大阪市淀川区)8:00~16:45 、研究所(神奈川県藤沢市)9:00~17:45

休日:土曜、日曜、祝日、メーデー、年末年始など(年間123日程度)

働き方関連制度:フレックスタイム制、テレワーク勤務制導入(対象社員)
