Nexstar Media Group Sales Account Executive (Manhattan, KS) in Topeka, Kansas

KSNT-TV is growing and we have plans to open a Sales & News office in Manhattan, KS. We are looking for an experienced Media Sales Executive that has relationships with local clients and involved in the communities in the western portion of our viewing area. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor to position our 4 Television stations and Digital assets to help businesses grow. You will be selling award winning News, Weather & Sports, sports programming from NBC, FOX, ABC & CW that includes NFL including Chiefs & Super Bowl, College Football/Basketball including KSU & KU, MLB World Series, Nascar and more!

The Manhattan Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established local businesses, developing new prospects and convincing potential clients of the merits of television and digital advertising.

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.

  • Establishes credible relationships with local business community.

  • Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.

  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.

  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.

  • Explains to customers how specific Television and Digital advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.

  • Develops advertising schedules for client partners after a thorough Needs Analysis, utilizing research tools and expertise from Station Managers with a long tenure of developing successful campaigns.

  • Works with clients and station production personnel to develop TV and Digital commercials in addition to static Digital advertisements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Requirements & Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred.

  • Manhattan, KS area Media experience is most desired, but we want to talk to you if you are a customer focused Sales Executive with business-to-business experience.

  • Minimum one year’s experience in sales, preferably in the media field.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.

  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
