BLN24 Business Intelligence Analyst in Tysons Corner, Virginia

Job Overview: The Business Intelligence Analyst will support the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions and analytics products. The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for documenting and performing requirement analysis, improving processes and procedures, developing implementation plans, user acceptance testing, and project activities (as required) for BLN24 projects. The Business Analyst will gather and analyze information and data, recommend the best path forward and work with the project teams in developing requirements and deliverables.    

 

Roles and Responsibilities:  

The Business Intelligence Analyst will perform the following responsibilities:   

  • Create Requirements Document, Concept of Operations Document, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Interface Designs.  

  • Develop use case scenarios for user acceptance testing process.  

  • Analyze designated performance measures/reports including financial, satisfaction and operational metrics.   

  • Perform root cause analysis (for example customer satisfaction surveys) where required.  

  • Work with other functional teams to access/ understand data to be analyzed and identify process improvement opportunities.  

  • Ensure ad hoc/standard operational reports are delivered accurately/on time.   

  • Coordinate across multiple operations/teams to add reporting insight and support reporting needs if needed.  

  • Develop/Adhere/Improve processes for supporting project activities and efforts.  

  • Assist in the development of a strategic customer roadmap.  

  • Develop and document processes to support all business, technical and functional areas of a business unit and organization.  

  • Assist Senior Business Analyst and/or Project Manager in preparing status briefings and presentations.  

  • Develop and maintain high quality project and software design documentation and analysis.  

  • Develop and create test strategy procedures, test plans, test cases, and reports for system development and enhancement projects.  

  • Create ad-hoc reports, data queries, standard reports, and dashboards to support business needs as required.  

  • Maintain logs and documentation to track and report issues, challenges, and concerns related to project work.   

  • Knowledge of the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems and applications.   

  • Lead meetings and presentation to gather requirements, create user stories, present strategies, and review/discuss findings.   

  • Must have positive work attitude and seek to solve problems independently.

    Required Skills/Abilities:   

  • Knowledgeable in reporting and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.   

  • Analytical skills and able to work independently and effectively.  

  • Innovation, problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities.  

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.  

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  

  • Decompose high-level information into details and requirements.  

  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts and lead requirements assessment discussions.  

  • Facilitate the liaison role between the product/business sponsor, senior leadership and project teams.  

  • Ability to explain difficult concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Ability to present requirements, testing results, and overall business outcomes to senior leadership and executives.  

  • Work with multiple project teams and leaders in a fast paced, challenging and dynamic environment.  

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.  

     

    Education and Experience:   

  • 3+ years of experience using Tableau Desktop and Server  

  • Knowledge of dashboards and report visualization best practices  

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA.  

  • Business Analyst or PMP certification desired.  

  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.  

  • Must have experience with writing business, functional, stakeholder, and reporting requirements.    

  • Will be able to deliver formal Business, Technical, and Functional Requirements Documents, Concept of Operations Document, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Interface Designs.  

  • Experience in creating test procedures, cases, and reports.  

  • Experience in working in Agile environment
