The Communications Specialist supports strategic communications that enhance the Chartway brand and culture. Primary responsibilities include supporting the development and coordination of internal communications, award programs, internal/external public relations, and crisis communications to support business objectives.

Responsible and Accountable For:

  • Developand distribute internal communications content across multiple channels,including the internal newsletter, Sharepoint-hosted intranet, internalcollateral/presentations, and digital signage to drive engagement.

  • Ownthe enterprise communications calendar, working with project anddepartment stakeholders to ensure comprehensive accuracy.

  • Assistin communication of strategies or messaging from senior leadership.

  • Createand pitch press releases, media relations content, and speaking proposals.

  • Monitorand track media mentions to develop measurable public relations resultsand recommend new strategies to grow organizational PR activity.

  • Representthe Communications team for various projects/initiatives/events.

  • Providesupport for crisis communications, including both internal and externalmessaging.

  • Supportdevelopment of brand publications that communicate the credit union’sculture.

  • Maintaincommunications budget – reconciling and reporting on a monthly basis.

  • Recommendand assist with the implementation of processes and tools to optimize teamproductivity.

  • Adhereto the company’s style guide, ensuring we produce high-quality anderror-free copy.

  • Workwith key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas, in line withthe company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills &Abilities:

  • Strategicthinker with meticulous attention to detail, ability to thrive underpressure, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellentwritten, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills with the abilityto multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Innovative,organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategicmessages to key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Abilityto interpret and condense complex information in a modern anduser-friendly way.

  • Abilityto work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention todetail.

  • Experience with all Microsoft Office programs and design programs (Canva, InDesign, etc.), and SharePoint. Experience with EverBridge Critical Event Management platform, ContactMonkey (email platform) and Cision Media Monitoring Software a plus.

  • Strategic and creative mindset.

Education/Experience andRequirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related filed (essential)

  • 3+ years of experience in Communications or related field.

  • Requested - A portfolio of work available for review.
