Independent Health Application Developer-Senior in United States

Overview

The Application Developer-Senior will be responsible for providing technical direction and expertise for IT projects. The Application Developer-Senior will use project management methodologies and System Life Cycle disciplines to ensure successful implementation of projects in support of corporate initiatives. They will participate in development efforts by performing detailed analysis, developing detailed designs, programming, and testing applications. The Application Developer-Senior will mentor Application Developers in their tasks. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management, is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. An additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Five (5) years of experience designing and developing software with the ability to design and implement reusable objects required.

  • Expert level experience with various programming languages and tools.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.

  • Experience in methodology-based development, including agile and waterfall.

  • Ability to navigate and work on multiple operating systems such as Windows and Unix.

  • Experience in at least four (4) of following applications/languages is required: SQL, PL/SQL, C# and .NET development, Java, Informatica, Kalido, Oracle, SQL Server, Siebel (Oracle CRM), GIT, JQuery, D365 Power Platform development, Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Active Directory, Azure Blob Storage), Web Development Technologies (Javascript, css, html and typescript), Power Automate, or Power BI.

  • Experience with automated unit and/or functional testing methods preferred.

  • Ability to work as part of a team or to be self-directed as required.

  • Ability to mentor developers in programming languages, SQL, and development methodology.

  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Prior experience in the health care industry is preferred.

Essential Accountabilities

Leadership

  • Promote Independent Health’s Core Values in all activities.

  • Coach, mentor, and delegate to Application Developers to facilitate their development.

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to Application Developers and other IT resources to solve problems, provide guidance and direction and develop new skills in others.

  • Facilitate a collaborative approach to problem solving and make well-reasoned decisions.

Engineering

  • Follow the IT systems development lifecycle in order to achieve project objectives within budget and timeframe requirements.

  • Manage small to medium sized projects.

  • Follow established quality standards, checkpoints, and communications processes to ensure project quality.

System and Software Development

  • Demonstrate good analytical abilities and technical skills.

  • Prepare detailed system and program specifications.

  • Manage testing of all system functions.

  • Prepare and provide user training and system documentation.

  • Automate data access processes and solve integration problems for business units and external stakeholders.

  • Design, blueprint, code and provide development support as necessary for data and applications.

  • Develop and implement strategies for meeting requirements that are not addressed by current capabilities.

  • Create and follow standards and maintain processes to balance consistency with flexibility to support the business needs.

  • Develop written specifications and documentation to support development processes.

  • Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve problems.

  • Ensure stability, integrity, availability, productivity, and efficient integration solutions.

End User Support

  • Translate customer needs into requirements.

  • Manage changes to requirements.

  • Ensure customer requests for information are addressed and follow up occurs.

  • Evaluate and recommend application systems that can improve department’s environment.

  • Work with the business unit to develop a solution fitting the business requirements.

Hiring Compensation Range: $110,000 - $125,000 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
