Required Skills and Experience

Commercial IT experience of 8+ Yrs., industry knowledge and at least 1 - 3 years IT testing experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.

Essential capabilities (core)

• Strongtechnical documentation/interpretationandcommunicationskills.

• Understandingbusinessissueslinked to theapplicationsbeingtested.

• Willingness to learnnewtechnologyskills to keeppacewiththe improvementsofthetesting process.

• Problemanalysisskills.

Other capabilities (technical)

• Undertakecomplextestingactivitiesinrelation to softwaresolutions ensuringthese meet agreedspecifications

• Developcomprehensivetestscripts/scenariosbasedontesting planinaccordancewithstandardprocedures/templates

• Executetestcases,checkanddocumentresults to ensurethesystem#stechnical,functionalandnon-functional(e.g.elementary loadtesting)requirementsare met

• Contribute to testing ofanyactionstaken to rectifyusers#problems to ensureuserandsystemrequirementsare met andthatchangesintegratewithproductionsystem

• Make initial diagnosisofproblems, for a systemor sub-system or applyknownsolutions,includingdocumentingproblems,progresschecking,andescalation to ensureresolution

• Appropriatelyuseprogress/trackingtoolsandcompleteadministrationactivities

• Test, launchandhelptrainusersinnewsystems

• Work withbusinessusers(inconjunctionwithBusinessAnalysts) to clarifyrequirements,resolve issues

• Database-centricskillsespecially SQL,storproc, DBconnections

• MainframeDBknowledge

• Identity andAccessManagement(howDB accountswork)

• Test execution/runknowledgeusingpowershell,bash

Key Accountabilities :

• Deliveringqualityapplicationchangeacross variousplatformsthroughanalysis, planning,creation andexecutionofUser Acceptance Test designs,cases andprocedures.

• Liaising withbusinessusers,business analystsanddevelopers to ensurethatplannedtesting meets their requirements.

• Acquiring andanalysingallrelevantdocumentsfor assignedprojects to determine testingrequirements.

• Consulting ontesting matters to business/project

• Executing Test cases forallassignedprojects/enhancements(IndependentlyrunTestingusing Unixscripting,SQLs).

• Raising anydefects foundduringtestandescalatinginaccordancewith setprocedures.

• Trackingprogressofallocatedtest designsandtestcases to ensuretestingdeadlineswill be met.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• DegreeinComputer Science / informationsystemsorequivalenttechnicalqualification
