Duties: Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of Cloud Infrastructure and integrations. Maintain, lead, and challenge the security footprint to bring continuous advancement and maturity. Assist IT operations and security owners to implement scalable security capabilities and processes. Research and recommend new security technology capabilities and their applicability within the greater organization. Shape the organization’s security policies and standards for use in cloud environments. Interpret security and technical requirements into business requirements, and communicate security risks to relevant partners ranging from business leaders to engineers. Advise and influence multi-disciplinary teams in implementing and operating cyber security controls. Advocate for policy as code and security as automation adopting IAC and the CICD/SDLC lifecycle towards all cloud activities. Collaborate with application developers and database administrators to deliver creative solutions to difficult technology challenges and business requirements. Apply knowledge and experience with systems, automation platforms, and technologies. Provide domain expertise on information security architecture and systems engineering to other IT and business teams. Implement security architectures for cloud and hybrid systems. Automate security controls, data, and processes to provide improved metrics and operational support. Employ cloud-based APIs when necessary to write network and system level tools for safeguarding cloud environments. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $172,499 to $283,900 per year

What you have

Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science & Technology, or a related field. Requires progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience (6 years with Bachelor’s or 4 years with Master’s), which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Implement access controls, data encryption, and network security using native capabilities in Azure, GCP, and AWS; Security regulations and standards to ensure compliance in a cloud environment including, PCI DSS, NIST, and COBIT; Network security including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and VPN’s; Write code and scripts to automate security tasks, and integrate security tools into the cloud environment using Python and Bash; Cloud security deployment and migration using GCP, AWS, Azure, and CSP.
