Charles Schwab Senior Specialist, Software Development & Engineering in Westlake, Texas

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Work closely with peer developers and QA team members across scrum teams in designing, developing, testing, modernizing, supporting, and integrating client facing user interface components and supporting services. Collaborate with product owners and business partners to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose narratives, design features, and prioritize tasks). Work with scrum team members as well as dependency development partners on the full software development life cycle. Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery. Support integration efforts to build whole systems from various subsystems. Identify technology risks early and establish mitigation plans. Create dashboards and alerts for monitoring and troubleshooting the applications in production. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, Texas. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Job Location: Westlake, TX

Salary: $139,464 to $160,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of related progressive, post-bachelor’s experience. Experience must include some experience in each of the following skills: Design and development of enterprise applications using Java and distributed design patterns; RESTful service development: decoupling of services or activities for platforms and applications; Developing microservices using Spring Boot; Authentication and authorizing applications using SAML and OAUTH; Event driven architecture RabbitMQ or Kafka Messaging streams development; Development of relational databases using Oracle, DB2, or MySQL; and Building and deployment automation using CI/CD tools GIT, Bitbucket, or Bamboo.
