Minuteman Press Design/Production Assistant in Williamsville, New York

Williamsville. Minuteman Press. DESIGN/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT. FT. 40hrs./wk. M-F. 1st shift. $16-$20/hr. WNDOE.

The Design/Production Assistant Employee will work directly with our lead design and production team as well as with clients to typeset and design for print and must be skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign).

These employees must present themselves in the most professional way possible. This includes dressing professionally, in a minimum of business casual attire. Verbally the employee is expected to communicate clearly, comprehensively, and pleasantly.

It is imperative this employee learns the full scope of our services and products. This position requires a friendly, patient, and helpful approach to convey our focus on the customer. This interaction could be executed in person, on the phone, and/or via digital communication. Some key requirements for all customer interaction:

-Answering phones as prescribed in the How to Answer Phones handout -Following up on quotes via phone and/or email -Using the Customer Lead Form for every phone call to ensure proper and complete relay and collection of information. -Approaching every customer interaction with the understanding that our focus is providing them a solution to their needs. It is your job to advise and provide them with solutions they may not already be aware exist. -Learning how to recognize opportunities. -Learning closing techniques to capitalize on these opportunities.

Additional duties will include data entry and processing of order paperwork. This will require the use of the Minuteman Press software, Flex. Learning the use of Flex is required to perform the duties required of this position. This will include, but is not limited to: order entry, customer database management, vendor database management, updating and adjusting of reordered jobs, and generation of approved Flex reports/forms.

-Use of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Fiery Command Workstation & Microsoft Word & Excel, etc. is required to perform tasks required of this position. -Digital Printing and Bindery work are required as part of the Production Assistant role. -Communication with our customers and clients via electronic means is common in our business. -Understanding common file types needed to perform our various services will need to be understood and must be able to be clearly conveyed to our customers. -The employee will assist other departments with vendor relations regarding Central Facility order processing. -Filing according to the Minuteman Press filing system is another duty. Maintaining these records accurately is crucial to eliminating mistakes and reruns.

-In addition to the listed duties, the employee will learn other aspects of our business by initially helping in the Digital Printing department. The employee will be required to learn about paper types and how to aid the Digital Print Production staff in keeping production running. This will include learning about finishing operations.

Requires: -High school diploma -1 year experience (acceptable related experience: design, customer service, print production)
