27 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 07/01/2024 - 11/30/2024.

Workers will generally work in teams to harvest tobacco. Workers will help prepare tobacco to be placed in barns and with loading and unloading tobacco barns.
Cut and lay plants on ground, pick up plants (2-3 each), hand plants to speares, spear plants onto lath, load into wagon. Workers will handle and hang tobacco leaves for drying. Pass lath progressively upward in barn and hang lath onto poles, standing at considerable height.
After curing, take down tobacco and strip, bundle leaves for market. When tobacco is removed from the curing board, workers will be expected to assist each other by placing tobacco on sheets to be bound in bundles and loaded in trucks for transport. Take care to prevent damaging plants at all stages to ensure wrapper-quality product. Work requires working on rails in barns,curing structures, which are 48 inches apart and from 6 feet to 20 feet above the ground. Workers must have no fear of working from heights. Work may also include mechanized field work using power equipment. By way of example and not limitation power equipment may include tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators and other farm and packing house equipment. Work is to be done in the field for long periods of time. Workers are expected to perform duties including weighing and loading of product. Workers will assist in loading trucks with product weighing up to and including 70 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet for long periods of time. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers' ability to perform the job. Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning through the heat of the day, working in fields. Temperatures may range from 10 to 100 F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations.
