Job Description

We are looking for a proficient CAD Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks and a strong background in mechanical design. The successful candidate should be well versed in converting SolidWorks models into detailed drawings and properly functioning assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for precision engineering and a meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to work independently without supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation. The candidate should also possess the ability to check their own work, fluency in both imperial and metric units, and solid experience in mechanical design and material selection. Previous experience in product and equipment design and finite elements analysis is highly desirable.  Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D CAD models and technical drawings for components, assemblies, and systems.

 Develop detailed drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T callouts to communicate design intent effectively.

 Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and update drawings and documentation accordingly.

 Create and maintain drawing templates to standardize design practices and streamline workflows.

 Create engineering control plans by identifying critical inspection features.

 Implement document control procedures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of design data.

 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review designs, resolve issues, and implement engineering changes.

 Utilize PDM software to manage and organize CAD files, revisions, and documentation.

 Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams to facilitate production processes.

 Review engineering design drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards and specifications.

 Fluent in both imperial and metric units to accommodate diverse project requirements.

 Apply solid experience in mechanical design and material selection to optimize product performance and reliability.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

 5+ years of experience in CAD design engineering roles, with proficiency in SolidWorks.

 Expertise in creating detailed drawings, assemblies, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

 Experience managing engineering change orders (ECOs) and document control processes.

 Proficiency in PDM software for managing CAD files and documentation.

 Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.

 Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

 High level of attention to detail with the ability to work independently without supervision.

 Solid experience in mechanical design and material selection.

 Previous experience in product and equipment design is highly desirable. null
